Studies suggest that a strong source of influence in the decision making process for Millennials considering job offers is the strength of connection and attraction to the community in which the opportunity resides. An extremely powerful means of getting connected to the community within which one lives and works is to engage in service to that community. Besides the potential for leveraging service learning as a means of attracting and retaining Millennial talent, service and community based engagement offer great potential for developing both hard- and soft-skills required for successfully navigating today’s workplace dynamics.
